Volunteer With Bebe’s Hive
Bebe’s Hive is now recruiting child grief support volunteers as we prepare to launch our first pilot grief support groups for children in Southport.
Help us build a safe, creative and compassionate space where grieving children can feel seen, supported and gently held through loss.

Join Us
At Bebe’s Hive, we are preparing to welcome our very first little hearts into the Hive through a carefully planned pilot programme for grieving children.
Above all, the aim is to provide a safe, gentle and creative space where children can feel seen and supported following the loss of a loved one.
We are now looking for compassionate volunteers to help us shape the future of Bebe’s Hive.
Child Grief Support Volunteers

Pilot Sessions
The first pilot groups are currently planned to run on Saturday mornings and will initially be split into the following age groups:
🌱 Ages 4–6
🌼 Ages 7–9
Each session will be creative, child-led and relationship-focused, therefore allowing children to process emotions at their own pace through play, creativity, conversation and connection.
Of course, these are our very first Hive sessions, consistency and trust are incredibly important to us.
Children attending may be navigating grief, trauma or significant change. For this reason, safe and familiar relationships will help children feel secure within the space.

Who We’re Looking For
Warm, emotionally aware volunteers who have experience working with children and young people.
Experience may come from a range of backgrounds including:
• Education and schools
• Early years settings
• SEND support
• Healthcare or medical professions
• Children’s services
• Youth work
• Family support or community work
Most importantly, we are looking for people who are kind, calm, reliable and able to gently support children through big feelings.
Support & Training
• Training before sessions begin
• Safeguarding guidance and DBS processes
• Alongside this, volunteers will receive ongoing support and supervision.

This is a great opportunity to help shape a brand-new community project from the very beginning…
Commitment & Consistency
It is important for volunteers to commit on either a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Grieving children need and deserve, familiar faces and trusted relationships are incredibly important. Overtime, consistency will help children feel safe, settled and supported within the Hive.
Because of this, we are looking for volunteers who feel able to make a reliable and meaningful commitment wherever possible.

A Gentle Reminder
Bebe’s Hive is not a clinical therapy service. With this in mind, sessions are designed to offer creative and child-led emotional support in a welcoming community environment.
Volunteers are not expected to “fix” grief.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer a child is simply a safe space, a listening ear, and a trusted person who keeps showing up.
